The Balwadi or kindergarten, was established in 1984 to cater for the educational needs of local children. It is housed in a building separate from the working areas and the lessons are taken in large bright and airy classrooms.
Children are accepted from the age of two and can stay until they are five years old. At that stage they will be ready to join 1st standard at government schools.
Teaching Staff
The Head of the Balwadi is a qualified teacher. She leads a team of qualified teachers and trainee teachers at all times. A trained helper also forms a part of the team. The team ensures all the children are well attended to.
Method of Instructions
Montessori methods are used and the government syllabus is taught.
Classes are separated into Marathi / Hindi medium and English medium. Parents are free to choose in which of those their child is taught.
The school runs six days a week from 9.30 - 12.30.
At any given time the Balwadi caters to approximately 100 students.
Both English and Marathi sections follow the same curriculum and are divided into three sections.
